The report also claims that another hacker, “IntelBroker,” may be involved in the attack.

What Ford said about the data breach

In a statement to Bleeping Computer, a Ford spokesperson said: “Ford’s investigation has determined that there was no breach of Ford’s systems or customer data. The matter involved a third-party supplier and a small batch of publicly available dealers’ business addresses. It is our understanding that the matter has now been resolved.”

How this data breach may affect Ford customers

Ford customers may be at risk following data breach as the hacker exposed personal information on a hacking forum.

As per the report, the leaked data includes names, addresses, purchase details, and dealer information. While not highly sensitive, this information could be used for phishing scams and social engineering attacks.

The data was reportedly offered to members of the hacker forum for a nominal fee of $2, suggesting the intent may be to cause disruption rather than financial gain.

The alleged involvement of "IntelBroker," a hacker with a recent history of successful breaches at major companies like Cisco and Nokia, adds credibility to the leak, the report adds.

Ford is further investigating the claims. Meanwhile, customers are advised to avoid suspicious communications and sharing personal information.
