Microsoft founder Bill Gates to Donald Trump: ‘I hope we can now….’

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is the latest tech mogul to congratulate Republican Party’s Donald Trump, acknowledging his recent victory and expressing hope for future collaboration. Gates joins other prominent figures in recognizing the new president, signaling potential opportunities for innovation and progress on global challenges under Trump's leadership.

In his message, he also congratulated vice president elect JD Vance. Taking to microblogging X (formerly Twitter), Gates wrote “Congratulations to President Trump and VP-elect Vance. America is at its strongest when we use ingenuity and innovation to improve lives here in the U.S. and around the world. I hope we can work together now to build a brighter future for everyone.”

Bill Gates reportedly made donations to Kamala Harris

As per a New York Times report, Gates donated more than $50 million to a non-profit that supported Kamala Harris. His ex-wife Melinda French Gates publicly endorsed Democrat’s Kamala Harris during the election campaigns, calling her the “right candidate, right now".

Other Tech CEOs wish Trump

Tech CEOs including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman extended their wishes to Trump on his win. Mark Zuckerberg congratulated Trump saying “
Congratulations to President Trump on a decisive victory. We have great opportunities ahead as a country. Looking forward to working with you and your administration.”

“Congratulations President Trump on your victory! We look forward to engaging with you and your administration to help make sure the United States continues to lead with and be fueled by ingenuity, innovation, and creativity,” Tim Cook wrote in an X post. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said “Congratulations President Trump, we’re looking forward to engaging with you and your administration to drive innovation forward that creates new growth and opportunity for the United States and the world.”
