MakeMyTrip partners with Zomato to deliver meals on trains

MakeMyTrip has announced a strategic partnership with Zomato. As part of this association, the company will offer direct meal delivery to train passengers at over 130 railway stations nationwide. The initiative aims to transform the on-train dining experience by allowing travelers to order food from over 40,000 restaurant partners via the MakeMyTrip app, with meals delivered straight to their seats.

Meeting rising demand for on-train meals

This partnership comes amid a surge in demand for e-catering services on Indian Railways. In FY 2024–25, more than 90,000 passengers used e-catering daily, marking a 66% year-on-year growth. MakeMyTrip plans to integrate its Live Train Status tool to help passengers place timely orders for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks based on real-time train movement.

Diwali rollout and special offers

As part of the Diwali season rollout, passengers booking train tickets on MakeMyTrip will receive a complimentary coupon redeemable on Zomato orders, adding festive value to the travel experience.
