List of 18 banned OTT platforms

The government has officially announced the blocking of 18 over-the-top (OTT) platforms due to the presence of obscene, vulgar, and, in some cases pornographic content. This decision follows repeated warnings issued by Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur. Notably, one of these platforms had accumulated over 1 crore downloads, with two others exceeding 50 lakh downloads on the Google Play Store. The recent decision was taken under the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 in consultation with other Ministries/Departments of the Government of India, and domain experts specialising in media and entertainment, women's rights, and child rights. Below is the comprehensive list of the banned OTT platforms in the country.
