Jeff Bezos' birthday party for Kris Jenner didn't go as smoothly as Amazon founder might have hoped as ...
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sánchez hosted Kris Jenner’s extravagant 70th birthday party at their $165 million Beverly Hills estate on Saturday, November 8. However, the star-studded celebration was so loud that it triggered several 911 calls from nearby residents. According to TMZ, police were dispatched to the property after neighbours complained about booming music from the James Bond–themed bash. The report quotes sources who described the noise as “off the charts,” with a live performance by Bruno Mars sending the glamorous crowd into a frenzy.
Under Beverly Hills ordinances, loud music is prohibited in residential areas after 10pm. Officers reportedly spoke to event security and issued a warning, but later returned after learning that large decorative hedges had been placed outside the property to block off the street — without the required city permit.
Police ordered the fake greenery to be “removed [just] as dozens of celebs were leaving the party,” TMZ reported.
Jenner and her longtime boyfriend, Corey Gamble, are close friends with Sánchez and Bezos. The two couples often attend events together and were recently spotted at Bezos and Sánchez’s Venice wedding earlier this year.
In September, Jenner praised Sánchez’s second children’s book The Fly Who Flew Under The Sea on Instagram, writing: “We love you so much!!! Thank you for shining your beautiful (inside and out) light on such amazing and important causes always... You are truly an inspiration and such a special girl and friend. I love you.”
Jenner’s milestone birthday drew an A-list guest list including Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Adele, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, Gayle King, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson, and Naomi Watts.
“It was just all about celebrating Kris,” a source told People describing the party. “And it was everything you’d expect from Kris: over-the-top, glamorous and full of love from her family. It was obvious that she had the best night.”
Another insider said Jenner had been “excited about turning 70,” adding, “Sure, she looks amazing, but it’s her energy that stands out... she has this nonstop enthusiasm for life.”
