Apple iPhone 16 is available for Rs 54,900 on Apple website; here's how you can grab the deal
With the introduction of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro at the Glowtime event, Apple has officially set the stage for numerous smartphone users eager to upgrade to the latest model. As these consumers prepare to make their purchases, many will be on the lookout for the most attractive deals available.
The four new iPhone models come with different starting prices, though each base model includes 128 GB of storage. In India, the Apple iPhone 16 starts at Rs 79,900, while the iPhone 16 Plus is priced at Rs 89,900. The higher-end models, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, are priced at Rs 1,19,900 and Rs 1,44,900, respectively.
One of the most valuable offers comes in the form of exchange deals, providing significant discounts on the new iPhone purchase price. Apple’s long-standing trade-in program remains a popular option, especially with the launch of the iPhone 16 series. Depending on the model and condition of the traded iPhone, customers can receive up to Rs 67,500 in credit toward their new device.
The Apple iPhone 16 (128 GB) is priced at Rs 79,900. However, customers can take advantage of an attractive exchange offer, receiving Rs 25,000 for trading in an old iPhone 14 in excellent condition. This brings the effective price of the iPhone 16 down to Rs 54,900.
Pre-orders for the new iPhone began at 5:30 PM IST on September 13, with official availability starting on September 20.
Display: The iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2556x1179 pixels and a pixel density of 460 ppi. It is IP68-rated, offering resistance against water, splashes, and dust.
Camera: A standout feature of the iPhone 16 is the Camera Control, which provides users with quick access to visual intelligence, helping them identify objects and locations faster. This feature allows users to quickly open the camera, take photos, and start recording videos. An upcoming update will enhance Camera Control, further improving its visual intelligence capabilities.
The iPhone 16 is equipped with a 48MP Fusion camera, which includes a 2x telephoto lens, complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, it boasts a 12MP TrueDepth front camera with an ƒ/1.9 aperture. It also supports spatial photo and video capture. Additionally, the iPhone 16 introduces new audio editing tools like Audio Mix, which lets users adjust sound post-capture to focus on the person speaking, simulate a professional studio recording, or balance vocal tracks with surrounding environmental sounds. Wind noise reduction is also improved through advanced machine learning algorithms that minimise unwanted background noise.
Processor: The iPhone 16 is powered by the A18 Bionic chip, designed using second-generation 3-nanometer technology to boost the performance of Apple Intelligence. It features a 16-core Neural Engine, optimised for handling large generative models, and can run machine learning models up to twice as fast as the A16 Bionic chip. The 6-core CPU offers a 30% performance improvement over its predecessor.
Apple Intelligence: Running on iOS 18, the iPhone 16 includes Apple Intelligence, a set of advanced system-wide features. It will be available as a free software update, with initial features rolling out next month in U.S. English for several global regions.
Apple Intelligence introduces integrated writing tools within iOS 18, enabling users to rewrite, proofread, and summarise text in apps like Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party platforms. In the Notes and Phone apps, users can also record, transcribe, and summarise audio. During a call in the Phone app, recordings notify participants, and once the call concludes, Apple Intelligence generates a summary of key points from the conversation.
