Infosys Q2 earnings call begins with tribute to Ratan Tata. Watch
Infosys Ltd reported its earnings for the second quarter of 2024. The country’s second-largest software exporter reported a 4.7 per cent rise in the September quarter net profit with a net profit of Rs 6,506 crore in July-September. It was up 4.7 per cent when compared to Rs 6,212 crore earnings in the same period last year. According to a company statement, the profit was 2.2 per cent higher quarter-on-year.
Today’s earnings comes days after the death of former chairman of Tata Group, Ratan Tata. The earnings call began with a tribute to the visionary leader and philanthropist. Reversing the trend after six quarters, Infosys said that it added 2,456 employees in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025 (July-September). Infosys total headcount at the end of September stood at 317,788, up from 315,332 in the previous quarter (April-June). However, attrition for the second quarter increased to 12.9%, up from 12.7% in Q1, 2024.
“We saw strong quarter-on-quarter growth of 3.1% in constant currency in Q2. The growth was broad-based with good momentum in financial services, driven by our industry expertise, market-leading cloud capabilities with Cobalt, and generative AI offerings with Topaz. This has led to a growing preference among clients to partner with us,” said Salil Parekh, CEO and MD of Infosys.
“Our large deals, amounting to $2.4 billion in Q2, reflect our differentiated position. I am grateful to our employees for their unwavering commitment to our clients as we continue to strengthen our market leadership,” he added.
