HDFC Bank has announced a new important security feature to the latest version of its mobile banking app. According to an email from the Bank sent to its customers, the bank has introduced mobile number verification for its banking app

After the update, HDFC Bank users cannot use the app until they update it.

This feature will allow users to access the HDFC Mobile bank app only on mobile phones with the number registered with the bank's account number.

With this feature, users have to ensure that the SIM card of their bank-registered mobile number is in the device from which they want to access the HDFC Bank mobile banking app.

Users will also have to maintain an active SMS subscription for mobile number verification. After updating the app, users will need to provide their Debit Card details or NetBanking password for one-time authentication.

The app allows for easy login and quick money transfers. This app can be used for multiple payment services including -- IMPS, UPI, NEFT and other methods for swift transfers.
