Google is making it easier for its users to find the cheapest flights for their travel.

The giant has rolled out a new Cheapest tab for Google Flights. This update, rolling out globally over the next two weeks, aims to take the guesswork out of finding the cheapest flights by prioritising low fares over other factors.

While Google Flights has always offered a range of flight options, the new "Cheapest" tab prioritises price above all else. Passengers can expect to see itineraries with significantly lower fares compared to the default "Best" tab, which balances price and convenience.

The "Cheapest" tab might uncover flights with:

• Longer layovers: This can significantly reduce the cost of the ticket, but adds travel time.
• Multiple airlines: Combining different airlines on a single trip can sometimes be cheaper than flying with a single carrier.
• Booking legs separately: Travelers might find cheaper options by purchasing flight legs from different websites or airlines.
• Flying to a different airport: Consider alternative airports in the destination city, which might be further away but offer lower fares

How to use Google Flights' Cheapest tab

Google Flights users will see the new "Cheapest" tab alongside the existing "Best" tab. Simply navigate to Google Flights and enter your travel details. You'll then have the option to switch between the "Best" and "Cheapest" tabs to see different flight options based on your priority.

With both the "Best" and "Cheapest" tabs available, Google Flights offers increased flexibility for users to find the perfect balance between price and travel experience.
