Google announces 6 new Gemini AI-powered features coming to Chrome
Google has announced that it is bringing a massive, AI-powered overhaul to the Chrome browsing experience, integrating its most advanced Gemini 3 model into the heart of the browser. According to the company, there will be 6 new features coming to Chrome, allowing users to undertake as well as complete tasks from a simple window and even take the help of a proactive AI assistant, capable of handling complex logistics and creative tasks directly within the tab.
“We’re also bringing deeper integrations across our most popular Google Apps so you can be more productive, helping on complex multi-step workflows with auto browse and, in the coming months, you’ll get more contextually relevant help with Personal Intelligence. The new Gemini in Chrome is like having an assistant that helps you find information and get things done on the web easier than ever before,” the company said.

Google Chrome to get multitasking side panel
Chrome is getting a new permanent Gemini side panel – like in Microsoft Edge. This allows users to keep their primary work open in the main window while the AI assistant handles separate tasks on the side.Auto Browse agentic AI assistant
Chrome is moving beyond basic autofill by getting Auto Browse feature which introduces “agentic” capabilities for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google is using the multimodal power of Gemini 3 in Chrome, allowing it to “see” images on your screen to help you shop. This is supported by the new Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), an open standard co-developed with Shopify, Etsy, and Wayfair.
