Delhi flight delay: Air India, Indigo, Spicejet and others issue advisories as over 100 flights delayed at IGI airport
Flights at Indira Gandhi International airport are experiencing a delay due to a technical glitch with the air traffic control (ATC) system. As per a PTI report, the disruption began Thursday, November 6 evening impacting both arrivals and departures. Over 100 flights have been delayed due to the software issue. Delhi International Airport Limited issued an advisory on X writing: “Due to a technical issue with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, flight operations at IGIA are experiencing delays. Their team is actively working with all stakeholders including DIAL to resolve it at the earliest”.
The delay is related to a glitch in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS) that offers data to ATC. As the automated process is disrupted, air controllers are forced to manually enter flight details using data available, causing the delay.
