Considering a career at Meta? Know what salary package does Mark Zuckerberg's company offer
In a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Meta disclosed that its average employee compensation reached a staggering $379,000 in 2023, highlighting the generous pay scale at the tech giant. Despite employing approximately 67,000 individuals, Meta reported that the median employee earned over $379,000 during the year.
While the average pay for tech positions typically ranges from $35,000 to $120,000 based on the role, Meta's compensation surpasses these figures by a significant margin. Similar tech giants like Google and Amazon also offer lucrative packages exceeding $300,000 for comparable positions.

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's CEO, emphasised the challenges of working at Meta despite the attractive compensation. He stated that 2024 would be the "year of efficiency," urging employees to maximise output and productivity.
In 2023, Mark Zuckerberg reported a total compensation of $24.4 million, including "other compensation," while his base salary remained at $1. Notably, this compensation covered costs related to his private jet. Zuckerberg's wealth increased by over $47 billion in the year, despite receiving a nominal salary of $1 since 2013.
Meta's financial results for the January to March period showcased robust performance, with net profit reaching $12.4 billion and total revenue rising by 27% to $36.5 billion.
In its filing, Meta acknowledged the unique position of Mark Zuckerberg, noting that he is synonymous with the company and is often associated with its public sentiment.
