Cloudflare's status page also noted: "Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary."
The company's CTO Dane Knecht took to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter) to confirm: "We are aware of the issue impacting the availability of Cloudflare’s network. It was not an attack; root cause was disabling some logging to help mitigate this week’s React CVE. Will share full details in a blog post today. Sites should be back online now, but I understand the frustration this causes and the work being."
During the outage several users also shared reports and memes about the latest Cloudflare outage. The outage affected apps like Canva, Zerodha and Groww.
This is the second time in a month when the IT infrastructre company faced a major outage. Last month, the outage affected major platforms including ChatGPT, Spotify and US President Donald Trump's social media site Truth Social.
Cloudflare is an important for the internet as it supports much of the traffic. It helps websites stay online during heavy traffic and protects them from cyberattacks. It sits between users and websites, improving speed and security. As many businesses depend on Cloudflare, even a single issue in its system can cause many unrelated websites to go down at the same time.
