CEO Sundar Pichai thanks Google India, shares photo with Shubman Gill after AI Impact Summit: My favourite part…
Google CEO Sundar Pichai shared an Instagram post where cricket met code. Pichai visited Google India Gurugram office and teamed up cricketer Shubman Gill. Pichai’s post came after a high-octane week at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where he also made a special stop at the Google booth. Pichai, who is a cricket enthusiast, expressed his gratitude to the local “Googlers” for their warm welcome.
“My favourite part of travelling anywhere is spending time with Googlers around the world,” Pichai wrote, adding, “Even more true when Shubman Gill is there too. Google India, thank you for having me.” Google India responded by saying, “Collab we didn’t know we needed.” The company has also shared a bunch of short videos on both X and Instagram about Pichai trip to India.
“Addressing the India AI Action Summit today was a profound personal honor. AI can improve billions of lives and solve some of the hardest problems in science. The best outcomes of AI are not guaranteed. We must pursue AI boldly, approach it responsibly, and work together through this moment,” he said in a post on X earlier this week.
“We are on the cusp of an era of hyper progress and new discoveries, but the best outcomes are not guaranteed. We must work together to ensure the benefits of AI are available to everyone, and everywhere,” he said, as per news agency ANI.
“I believe India is going to have an extraordinary trajectory with AI, and we are supporting with a full-stack commitment, including products, scaling and infrastructure. We are working on building AI products and solutions for Indian consumers and businesses to empower India's incredible developer community, we've already contributed 22 Gemma models to AI coach, and we are working closely with the government to bring AI applications with real world impact be through delivering timely monsoon forecast to farmers, helping healthcare workers screen for diseases like diabetic retinopathy or making information and services accessible in more languages, our current extends to reimagining the products, people use every day,” Pichai added.
Google’s ‘full-stack’ commitment
While the visit had its lighthearted moments, Pichai’s trip to India has been centered on a massive mission: ensuring India leads the next era of Artificial Intelligence. He urged all AI tech leaders to come together to tackle the world’s problems through AI.“Addressing the India AI Action Summit today was a profound personal honor. AI can improve billions of lives and solve some of the hardest problems in science. The best outcomes of AI are not guaranteed. We must pursue AI boldly, approach it responsibly, and work together through this moment,” he said in a post on X earlier this week.
Sundar Pichai praises Pax Silica initiative
Speaking at a special event to mark India joining the Pax Silica initiative – a US-led partnership to secure global tech supply chains – Pichai hailed the collaboration as “critical” for the future.“We are on the cusp of an era of hyper progress and new discoveries, but the best outcomes are not guaranteed. We must work together to ensure the benefits of AI are available to everyone, and everywhere,” he said, as per news agency ANI.
