Zonair3D air purifiers recently made their debut in India with the launch of ZonAIR+ 300 S, and ZonAIR+ 430 S, among others. Aimed at homes, offices, hospitals and other indoor spaces, the products are designed to remove contaminants and deliver cleaner indoor air through advanced filter technology. We reviewed the ZonAIR+ 300 S air purifier unit which is priced at Rs 2,25,000 plus 18% GST, placing it in the high-end premium segment for air purification systems. At this price point, the product is intended to appeal to buyers who prioritise air-quality needs in regions with severe pollution or for use in environments where clean air is important for health reasons. Here’s what we think about the ZonAIR+ 300 S air purifier
Build and operationThe design of the ZonAIR+ 300 S air purifier is functional and oriented toward indoor use. It is relatively large and would be suitable for spacious rooms or professional environments such as clinics or offices. While the company says that the air purifier is portable, it is heavier and larger than typical consumer air purifiers found in the sub-premium category.
At the top of the unit is a small touch-enabled screen with controls for power and fan speed. We found these buttons easy to see, but the touch response was not as smooth or reliable as expected given the high price tag.
Slight taps sometimes didn’t register, requiring a firmer touch to change settings.
The purifier operates using a combination of mechanical filtration and ozone-based cleaning technology. This means that it not only filters particulate matter but also works to reduce certain gaseous compounds and microbial contaminants in the air. The filters, the company claims, are medical grade and certified to remove fine pollutants.
The device comes with an automatic notification to alert users when the filter replacement is needed. The air purifier has a typical replacement cycle of up to 2–3 years, depending on usage condition as claimed by the company. Further, the air purifier has a coverage area of 700 Sq Feet.
Performance and useZonAIR+ 300 S offers three stages of filtration– Pre-filter G4, Gas filter GRSYSTEM and Absolute filter ULPA U15. In everyday use, the system is designed to handle a range of airborne pollutants including dust, allergens, fine particulates (like PM2.5), volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other gases commonly found in polluted indoor environments. The multi-stage filtration process is meant to provide a level of purification that goes beyond basic HEPA filtration, which is common in lower-priced consumer units.
Operating the air purifier is straightforward. It is a simple plug in device. Once switched on, it runs continuously and cycles air from the room through the filters automatically. The unit’s airflow design, which draws in air from the bottom and expels clean air from the top, worked as intended. The ability to change fan speed up to level 10 gives users control over how aggressively it cleans the air. At lower fan speeds, the machine was manageable and consistent.
However, at maximum power, the unit becomes significantly noisy, producing sound levels that are higher than many consumer models. For day-to-day use in living rooms or sleeping areas, this level of sound can be distracting, particularly if the unit is left running at the top fan settings.
Another aspect we noticed is that the purifier does not offer features common in many household air purifiers, such as a timer function or a quiet/sleep mode for overnight operation. These features would allow users to lower noise levels automatically or schedule operation times, but they are not present here. Given its premium price and professional positioning, these omissions stand out.
VerdictPriced at around Rs 2,25,000 (plus 18% GST), the ZonAIR+ 300 S air purifier performs its core job of cleaning indoor air effectively. Over daily use, we saw a noticeable reduction in dust and suspended particles in the rooms where it ran, and the multi-stage filtration system helped clear both large contaminants and finer pollutants. Rather than small bedrooms, the purifier is clearly designed with larger spaces and professional environments in mind, such as offices, clinics or homes with heavy pollution.
The touch controls allowed us to change fan speeds and power settings, but we found the touch response inconsistent at times. At higher fan speeds, the purifier produced noticeable sound, which may be distracting for everyday home use. Having said that, the ZonAIR+ 300 S offers strong air purification and could suit spaces with demanding air-quality needs. Buyers with standard home use requirements may find more value in less expensive purifiers that feature quieter operation and more user controls.
