Xiaomi is reportedly working on its flagship smartphone — Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The company has not yet revealed any details about the launch of the smartphone yet, but a recent online leak suggests that the upcoming smartphone may house a 200MP telephoto lens. According to a leak by XiaomiTime report, the leaked images of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra photography recently revealed that the smartphone may feature a triple rear camera and is said to lack a fourth sensor.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra may sport a triple rear camera
If this is true, then the company may be giving a major shift to the camera setup as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra featured a quad-rear camera setup.
“The visual identity of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra seems to retain the iconic, round module look found on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The most intriguing detail coming from the photography kit, however, is the lack of a fourth lens opening; instead of the fourth camera, the layout has included space for a special sensor, confirming the reduction from four to three distinct camera units. A strategic change in this direction indicates an optimization of specific focal lengths and sensor sizes rather than an increase in lens count,” mentions the report.
As per the report, the Chinese smartphone maker is working on optimising some specific focal lengths and sensor sizes. The report also mentions that cameras of Xiaomi 17 Ultra were tested under the codename ‘Nezha’ during their development process.
As mentioned above, Xiaomi 17 Ultra may also house a triple rear camera which may come with a 50MP primary camera with an OVX10500U sensor, a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with a S5KHPE sensor, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Along with this, the smartphone may also feature a 50MP selfie shooter.
