Samsung Galaxy S25 series first to get new Google Gemini Live features

Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series in Samsung's Unpacked 2025 event. The South Korean tech giant continues its partnership with Google for new AI features in the latest flagship smartphone series. Samsung's newly launched Galaxy S25 series will be the first to receive new AI features in Google's Gemini Live like Screen Share and Live Video. Google DeeepMInd CEO Demis Hassabis announced these features during the Unpacked 2025 event.

The company unveiled the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra at the event and these new features will be available on all three models. The company also teased the Samssung Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone, however, not much details about the same has been unveiled yet. Here’s what these new features do:

What are the new Gemini Live features in Samsung Galaxy S25

Gemini Live, Google's conversational AI, will now allow users to practice presentations, receive spoken feedback, and upload images, files, and YouTube videos into conversations, making it more multimodal and context-aware. With enhancements like Live Video and Screen Share, Samsung aims to provide a more natural and interactive AI experience starting with the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung Galaxy S25 get other Gemini-based features

Users can now experience an upgraded Gemini AI, seamlessly integrated into apps and services across Samsung Galaxy S25 series devices. With a single prompt, users can direct the AI to perform multiple tasks across different apps.

For example, when searching for nearby restaurants and sharing the options, Gemini can utilize Google Maps to generate recommendations and then draft a message via Google Messages to share them.

The company also announced new Gemini Extensions, designed to work with Samsung Calendar, Samsung Clock, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder.

In the coming months, Samsung plans to introduce Project Astra, Google’s real-time, multimodal AI assistant. This update will include features such as screen sharing and live video streaming, initially launching on the Gemini app for Android before being rolled out to the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung is also introducing a dedicated side button on the Galaxy S25 series, offering instant access to Gemini. With a single press, the AI can handle tasks like setting reminders, saving notes, or providing details about upcoming meetings.
