OnePlus 15 launched globally but Americans have to wait longer to get their hands on it, here’s why
OnePlus 15, the latest premium Android smartphone featuring Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, has launched globally. However, US customers face a delay in acquiring the device. This postponement stems from the impact of the recent US federal government shutdown on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which caused a backlog of necessary regulatory certifications. However, the latest US government shutdown, the longest in the country’s history, ended after 43 days. According to a Bloomberg report, OnePlus has confirmed that US sales are postponed until certifications are secured, though it's unclear how long the process will take. The device is currently available in several countries, including India and Canada. It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, a high-refresh-rate display for gamers and promises two days of battery life.OnePlus has confirmed US pricing for the new smartphone, which starts at $900 for the base model with 256GB of storage and 12GB of memory. A more expensive $1,000 option upgrades those specifications to 512 GB and 16 GB, respectively.
The device supports all major US networks, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, but carriers will not sell it directly.
