The release, identified by build number 2A3798, arrives less than a month after the major iOS 18.2 update that introduced new Apple Intelligence features and a redesigned Mail app. While Apple's release notes are concise, simply stating that the update "provides important bug fixes and is recommended for all users," the release appears to target specific issues that users encountered with iOS 18.2.

Users can install the update by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update on their iPhones. Apple has simultaneously released iPadOS 18.2.1 for iPad users, though no corresponding updates are available for other Apple devices, including the Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, Vision Pro, or HomePod.

Before updating to iOS 18.2.1, users are advised to back up their devices as a precautionary measure, though the update process is generally stable. The update is rolling out globally and is available for all iPhone models compatible with iOS 18.
