CES 2026: HP announces OmniBook Ultra with 85 TOPS AI performance; refreshes entire consumer lineup with new processors
HP has announced a major refresh of its consumer PC lineup at CES 2026, headlined by the OmniBook Ultra 14 that packs the world's first 85 TOPS NPU in a consumer notebook. The company also introduced the OmniStudio X 27 all-in-one PC and updated its entire OmniBook portfolio with new processors and OLED displays across the board.
The OmniBook Ultra 14 combines extreme portability with serious AI muscle. Its Snapdragon X2 Elite processor variant promises to deliver 85 TOPS of neural processing power, enabling it to handle multiple AI applications simultaneously. At just 10.7mm thin, HP claims it's the slimmest consumer notebook with this level of AI capability—5% thinner than Apple's 2025 MacBook Air 13 and 52% lighter than its own previous generation. Despite the svelte profile, you get a 3K OLED display option and all-day battery life.
HP hasn't sacrificed durability for design. The Ultra 14 passed 20 military-standard tests covering everything from drops and shocks to extreme temperatures. There's also a clever posture detection feature that monitors your working position and alerts you when you're slouching or holding your neck at awkward angles. Buyers can opt for the Snapdragon variant for AI-heavy multitasking or choose Intel Core Ultra processors for graphics-intensive workloads.
The OmniStudio X 27 targets home office creators with the world's first Neo:LED display in an AIO PC, delivering 100% coverage of both Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. Intel Core Ultra 7 processors handle the heavy lifting, with an optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU available for demanding projects.
What sets it apart is Thunderbolt Share support—a first for consumer AIOs. This lets you connect your laptop directly to the AIO, sharing a single keyboard, mouse, and webcam between devices while transferring files seamlessly. The webcam also tilts down for Surface View, enabling top-down desk sharing during video calls.
HP's complete OmniBook refresh spans multiple series with processors from AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm. The most eye-catching claim comes from the OmniBook 3 16 with Snapdragon X, which HP says delivers up to 45 hours of battery life—the longest for any 16-inch OLED consumer AI PC.
The lineup starts at $499.99 for the OmniBook 3 Series, while the flagship Ultra 14 begins at $1,549.99. Most devices arrive between January and Spring 2026.
