PlayStation Plus subscribers are eagerly awaiting the reveal of January 2025's free games. The official announcement is scheduled for January 1 at 11:30 am EST (10 pm IST). However, gamers will have to wait until January 7 to download and play the new titles. With no leaks to offer clues, fans on Reddit are predicting that the popular horror game will be part of the PS Plus Essentials lineup.

Resident Evil Village for PS Plus subscribers: What to expect

Paying homage to Resident Evil 4, the latest entry in the main Resident Evil series takes players to a remote village filled with terrifying creatures like werewolves, vampires, and witches. While retaining the first-person perspective of its predecessor, Resident Evil Village shifts towards a more action-oriented approach.

Rumours suggest that Capcom is already working on the next sequel, making it seem like only a matter of time before Resident Evil Village lands on PS Plus.

Apart from Resident Evil Village, rumours also claim that South Park: Snow Day may also be added to the PS Plus Essentials lineup in January. Although the game didn’t achieve significant critical or commercial success, a PS Plus release may give it a boost.

Other titles that are also expected to join PS Plus’ January 2025 lineup include -- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, SnowRunner, Atomic Heart, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and Atomic Heart (a frequent prediction since leaving Xbox Game Pass earlier this year).

More heavyweights like Hogwarts Legacy, God of War: Ragnarok, Lies of P, and Lords of the Fallen are also expected to arrive for PS Plus users next month. Additional mentions include Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Jusant, Terminator Resistance, and RoboCop: Rogue City.

Games such as Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Horizon Forbidden West, Sea of Stars, Hi-Fi Rush, Judgment, Hades, Suicide Squad, and Planet Zoo are also speculated to get added to PS Plus’ free library. The isometric puzzle game Cocoon is gaining traction, alongside titles like Assassin's Creed Mirage, F1 24, EA Sports WRC, Stray, A Way Out, and Atlas Fallen.

These titles would replace the current PS Plus offerings like It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and TemTem.
