Roblox launches its first-ever Global Parent Council with members from 32 countries

Roblox has officially kicked off its inaugural Global Parent Council—a group of 80 parents and caregivers from 32 countries who will advise the platform on safety features, policies, and partnerships aimed at making the experience better for kids and families.The council came together after Roblox opened applications last year, looking for parents who could offer real, on-the-ground perspectives on how children interact with the platform. The response was apparently strong enough that Roblox also created a second initiative—the Parent Champions program—to loop in even more voices from its community.Members of the Global Parent Council bring backgrounds in psychology, education, law enforcement, gaming, and digital well-being, among other areas. They've already had their first meeting and will now gather quarterly to share insights, flag concerns, and advocate for families in their respective regions. Monthly Q&A sessions on specific topics are also on the table."The launch of the Global Parent Council demonstrates our commitment to parental partnership, where we intend to listen and learn from these individual parents and caregivers," said Dr. Elizabeth Milovidov, Roblox's Global Head of Parental Advocacy.Among the council members is Vineeta Garg, IT Head at SRDAV Public School, who said, "Child safety must always come before engagement or growth."The Parent Champions, meanwhile, will receive regular updates on Roblox-related developments and get opportunities to weigh in on topics that matter to families.Roblox says parents can use its Safety Center to set up parental controls, including screen-time limits, spending caps, chat restrictions, and the ability to block specific games or users.
