Xiaomi to launch Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4 smartphones on August 25
NEW DELHI: Xiaomi is all set to launch two devices in China. The company has unveiled a teaser for an event scheduled for August 25. The teaser shows Xiaomi’s brand ambassadors - Chinese actors Liu Shishi and Wu Xiubo, holding a metal device and a smartphone respectively.
We have already seen leaked images of the rumoured Redmi 4 smartphone, so it is expected that Xiaomi might launch the same smartphone tomorrow. Like the Redmi 3s, the next Redmi 4 is expected to feature a metal body along with a fingerprint scanner. According to a report by GizmoChina website, Redmi 4 might come with 2.5D arc glass design on the front and speaker at the bottom.
Redmi 4 is also expected to be powered by an octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The report also states that the device will run Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8. It is expected to come with a 5-inch Full HD display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution. For imaging duties, the device will have a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. Battery is expected to be around 4,000mAh.
On the other hand, Xiaomi might also launch the Redmi Note 4. As per rumoured specifications, the Redmi Note 4 will likely have a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution. It’ll be powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage. It might also have Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.
The smartphone is expected to be equipped with a fingerprint sensor and sport a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, along with a 5MP front camera.
Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched its Redmi 3s Prime smartphone. Priced at Rs 8,999, the smartphone has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It comes with a 5-inch HD display of 720x1280 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The device supports microSD cards of up to 128GB in size. Redmi 3s comes with hybrid dual-sim support and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Xiaomi's MIUI baked on top.
