Xiaomi is working on a curved screen smartphone: Report
Internet is abuzz with rumours that Xiaomi is planning to launch a curved-screen smartphone. While the hottest Chinese startup is said to have junked the plan for its Mi 5 smartphone, there are speculations that the company's Mi Note 2 phablet may come with a curved screen.
According to Gizchina website, the upcoming Mi Note 2 will sport Samsung's curved AMOLED display. Other alleged features of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
It is expected to have 5.7-inch screen size, same as the first-generation Xiaomi Mi Note, with a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The smartphone is also rumoured to pack 4GB RAM, fingerprint sensor and 4G LTE support.
Xiaomi launched Mi Note in India in January 2015. Mi Note has a 5.7-inch Full HD (1080x1920p) LCD screen with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on Android-based MIUI 6 software. It is powered by Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB RAM and comes with 16GB and 64GB internal storage options.
On the back, Xiaomi Mi Note sports a 13MP camera with OIS, whereas a 4MP camera with 2-micron pixels (to let in more light) is in front. The smartphone is 4G-enabled, supports dual sims and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
