Samsung to launch 7-inch ‘Made in India’ tablet with 1.5GB RAM
This week, Samsung will be launching a new tablet in India. The South Korean tech giant has started sending media invites for the launch. For now, nothing has been confirmed about the tablet from the company itself. However, according to some industry insiders, the company is likely planning to launch a “Made in India” tablet.
The tablet is also said to feature 1.5GB RAM under the hood. In addition, a 7-inch display is also tipped for the device. While the RAM and the display size match with that of the Galaxy A 7.0 (2016) tablet, a key change here is the 8MP rear camera instead of the 5MP rear camera on teh Galaxy A. Nothing else is known about the unannounced tablet.
The 7-inch Galaxy A (2016) tablet was listed on the company’s Dutch website, complete with specifications. As per the listing, the tablet sports a 7-inch display with 1280x800 pixels resolution. It packs a quad-core 1.3GHz processor clubbed with 1.5GB of RAM. There's 8GB of in-built storage which can be further expanded via microSD card. A 5MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera round up the spec sheet.
The company also claims that the rear camera of the tablet is capable of recording HD videos. The tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB as connectivity options. Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) packs a 4,000 mAh battery and comes with a Kids Mode.
Recently, Samsung launched its Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) smartphones in India. Both smartphones are available for as low as Rs 2,989 each, as part of an exchange offer.
