OnePlus 3 smartphone’s price revealed ahead of launch

NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is all set launch its latest flagship OnePlus 3 in an online VR event today. The company has already announced that the smartphone will be sold without any invites and will be available exclusively on Amazon starting June 15. However, a national daily has ‘accidently’ revealed the smartphone’s price before its launch, via an advertisement.
The newspaper ad suggests that the 6GB RAM variant of OnePlus 3 will come at a price tag of Rs 27,999.
According to an online tipster, the upcoming smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It is also rumoured to sport a 16MP rear camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 64GB of in-built storage and NFC connectivity.
Other rumoured specifications include a USB type-C port, 4GB/6GB of RAM and a fingerprint sensor. The handset will likely run company's custom OxygenOS, baked on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Recently, OnePlus announced pop-up events in various cities around the globe, where users will be able to buy the new flagship along with some extra goodies. The events will take place in Berlin, New York, Paris and London on June 15. They will also be organised in the Indian cities of Delhi and Mumbai, but the dates are not out yet.
The company has also released a Loop app to watch the VR announcement, and is giving away its Loop VR headset at just Re.1 via Amazon.
