LeEco to start local sourcing in India from Q3
NEW DELHI: Chinese phone maker LeEco will start procuring devices from India this year as the company eyes a larger play in the country . The company will also look at partnerships for content as well as produce original content, which it will offer to buyers through its exclusive web platform.
Atul Jain, COO of the company's Indian operations, said the Chinese company will start assembling phones in India from Q3 of this year. “We are looking at options, which includes sourcing them from a third-party contract manufacturer.“
Recenlty, LeEco launched two more handsets in India namely the LeEco Le 2 and the Le Max 2 in India. The Le Max 2 is the more powerful handset out of the two, highlight of which is the massive 6GB RAM.
The smartphones were launched in China in April this year. While the Le 2 is priced at Rs 11,999, the Le Max 2 costs Rs 22,999 (including one year of content). The registration of handsets start on June 20th. Both will be available in Lemall.com and Flipkart e-Commerce websites.
