The app is based on the building management system and provides instant streams of cool air.

It

also gauges occupants’ feedback to make necessary changes in the temperature. “Employees act as sensors allowing the app to save energy by eliminating over-conditioning and turning off air conditioning in unoccupied spaces,” according to a statement.

As part of its sustainability initiatives, Infosys implemented several measures over the last one year at its Mysuru campus. Smart water meters were installed at the Mysuru campus, along with other campuses, and were linked to the central command center for continuous monitoring of water. There are 273 smart water meters installed at the campus.

The company recently also announced the setting up of a biogas plant at its Bengaluru campus. The new plant, with an optimized design and detailed engineering, has a capacity of treating two tonnes of food waste per day. The fully-automated system is integrated with the building management system to facilitate online monitoring. To treat waste within the campus, the company has also installed a compost plant with a capacity of 2.5 TPD.

Infosys has partnered with institutions such as Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley; Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore; and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay to further its research in building energy efficiency.
