IBM builds 3D virtual trial room

FLORIDA: Targeting millennial shoppers, Aditya Birla Group-owned online fashion portal abof.com tied up with IBM to introduce a 3D virtual trial-room for a personalized shopping experience.


Powered by IBM and with integrated technology from business partner Metail, this feature enables customers to input their body measurements and virtually try any apparel before placing an order. “The average return rate in the apparel industry is 20%.After the virtual trial-room was launched, the product return rate is nearly zero for abof.com,” IBM said.
