HP to launch world’s thinnest laptop Spectre in India by June end
NEW DELHI: HP is all set to launch the world's thinnest laptop, the HP Spectre, in India. According to industry insiders, the Spectre is expected to hit the Indian market by the third week of June. The laptop is priced at $1,170 (approximately Rs 78,647) internationally.
HP Spectre is as thin as a AAA battery. It measures 10.4 millimeters (0.41-inch) at its thickest point, which makes it slimmer than than the 12-inch MacBook (0.52 inches) and MacBook Air (0.68 inches).
Another USP of the laptop is its copper design combined with carbon fiber, which gives it a premium look. HP Spectre features 13.3-inch full HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. There's 8GB of LDDR3 RAM and 512GB SSD storage, along with 6th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.
The laptop features a hybrid battery that lasts up to 9.45 hours on a single charge, according to the company. It also includes 3 Type-C USB I/O ports.
HP Spectre was also the first device from the US tech giant to bear its new logo. The logo has four slanted lines making up the word 'HP'. So far, it's not clear if HP will be using the logo for its other products or just just restrict it to the premium laptop line-up.
