Google rolls out Gboard app for iPhone, iPad users in India
NEW DELHI: Last week, Google announced that it will soon be rolling out its Gboard app for iOS users in India. And now, the search giant has finally launched the keyboard app for iPhone and iPad users in India.
Google’s Gboard app allows users to search information, GIFs, emojis and more, directly from the app itself. It leverages the search prowess of Google to achieve this. That said, it's surprising that the keyboard isn't available on Android yet.
The best feature of Gboard has to be its built-in search functionality. The tool comes in really handy when you want to search for information while chatting. What's more, it also lets you search GIFs and emojis quickly.
Gboard is gesture-based, and hence makes one-handed typing really easy. Android users are already familiar with Google's word prediction and how well it performs, and Gboard makes the same available to iOS users.
The app can also send usage statistics anonymously to Google, thus helping to detect problems like crashes.
Recently, Google introduced a new ‘prompt’ feature aimed at simplifying the two-step verification process.
To use Google ‘prompt,’ users will just need to approve a prompt (hence the name) appearing on their smartphones as part of the two-step verification process. The prompt will display a message reading -- “Are you trying to sign-in?” followed by details such as location of the device.
