The 13 emojis represent women in business, healthcare, science, education, technology, industry, farming, food service, and music sectors. They represent the women working as accountants, office workers, clerks, managers, doctors, nurses, dentists, scientists, chemists, software engineers, chefs, cooks, rockstars and more.
“To make our final selection, we looked at the primary, secondary, and tertiary categories that compose the total global GDP — Agriculture, Industry and Services — and further broke them down categorically based on global popularity, growth, and overall representation,” said the presentation paper.
The presentation also cited a research by AdWeek suggesting that 92% of online consumers use emoji. Out of those almost 78% are those women who frequently use emojis. Not just women-only emojis, but some emojis for men were introduced by Google as well.
