Google introduces ‘Review from the Web’ feature in search
NEW DELHI: Google has added a new feature into its mobile search results. Dubbed ‘Review from the Web,’ the feature shows user-generated content from third-party websites in the mobile search results. The company will curate user reviews on places, TV shows, restaurants, movies and more from up to three websites and show them in the results directly.
“Today, we’re introducing Reviews from the web to local Knowledge Panels, to accompany our recently launched best-of lists and critic reviews features. Whether your site publishes editorial critic reviews, best-of places lists, or aggregates user ratings, this content can be featured in local Knowledge Panels when users are looking for places to go,” reads a company blog post.
The ‘Review from the web’ feature will arrive as an update to the Google app. The company has also provided guidelines as to how site owners can include the user rating from their sites for the feature.
Last month, Google introduced 'In Apps' search mode for Android smartphones. The new feature enables users to quickly find content from the installed apps. To access the feature, users just have to go to the Google app on their Android device and find the ‘In Apps’ tab. The best part is that this feature works even when the user is not connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data.
Using the ‘In Apps’ feature, users can find contacts and messages from inside the apps, search for any media, notes and more.
Google Search now also provides users Bollywood-related answers through carousels powered by Knowledge Graph.
