Genpact appoints Deloitte ex-vice chairman to its board of directors

NEW DELHI: Genpact today announced the appointment of ex-Deloitte vice chairman Carol Lindstrom to its board of directors with immediate effect.

Recently retired from Deloitte, Lindstrom led strategic relationship management at the company, and was also president of the Deloitte Foundation. She was a member of the Deloitte & Touche Board of Directors for six years and served on the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT) Global Board of Directors for eight years.

Lindstrom held many management and client leadership positions during her career at Deloitte.


"Carol has unique experience and expertise in large-scale technology implementations and transformation journeys for clients in our targeted industry verticals, as well as great insights on cultivating deep client relationships. Carol’s presence in Silicon Valley for many years will also help us as we continue our pivot on Lean DigitalSM," said NV Tyagarajan, president and CEO, Genpact.

Recently, the company’s principal shareholder Bain Capital has evaluated the acquisition of Nasdaq-listed IT services firm Syntel, triggering speculation about another billion dollar consolidation move in the IT services industry.

Bain, along with Genpact, started looking at a possible acquisition of Syntel several months ago. Discussions have made slow progress, according to people familiar with the matter.

Genpact started as a business process outsourcing (BPO) firm. However, in recent years, it has been trying to add IT muscle as global clients increasingly demand integrated IT-BPO solutions.
