CBSE XII board exams: Maths paper leaked on WhatsApp?
WhatsApp, which claims some 500 million users, said its web service will be a "mirror" and would require an internet-connected phone to work.
Parents and students from Ranchi and Dhanbad, which fall under Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) Patna region, have alleged that the mathematics paper of Class XII Boards on Monday was available on WhatsApp on Sunday night. Urging the Board to cancel the test, they also claimed that touts were selling 51 questions and answers near exam centres on Sunday.CBSE officials said that they had consulted experts with the "evidences" and concluded that only two questions and answers, which were purportedly leaked, matched with those in the actual question paper. So the Board wasn't treating it as a leak, a senior official said, adding that the "tally" was normal because there were so many sample papers, including the CBSE's, on the web.
However, the aggrieved parents claimed that of the questions leaked, 14 tallied with those in the actual mathematics paper. In a mail one of the parents sent to the CBSE, a copy of which is with TOI, he wrote that the mathematics paper was leaked across Dhanbad 12 hours before the test started.
