Apple sends media invites for WWDC 2016
The media invites are out for Apple's annual developers conference WWDC. The keynote for the event will take place on June 13 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
The event is scheduled to take place between June 13 to June 17. The Cupertino giant is expected to showcase next version of its mobile operating system iOS, new Macbook devices and updates to some of the existing services at WWDC 2016.
The next version of Apple iOS, likely to be called iOS 10, is expected to remove the existing software glitches in the current iOS version and bring an improved version of Siri. The digital voice assistant might be able to handle more tasks and reply more naturally to user queries.Better controlling options for certian funcitons, improvements in other departments like the Apple News, 3D Touch and more are also rumoured.
The iOS software powers the company's popular iPhone and iPad series.
The new Macbook Pro lineup is rumoured to feature an OLED touch bar over the keyboard. Siri, the company’s digital voice-based assistant might also make its way to the Macbooks as a part of an update. It is also been said that the company will be renaming the OS X to MacOS.
We are also expecting Apple to announce a few updates to its Watch OS platform, Apple Music and Apple Pay. There are also rumours that Apple may also announce an altogether new service. The company last year announced Apple Music at the event and Healthkit platform in 2014.
Apple CEO Tim Cook was in India recently. During the visit, Cook met PM Modi and discussed the possibilities of Apple setting up a manufacturing plant in India.
During the visit, Apple also announced setting up an app design and development centre and accelerator programme in Bengaluru to support engineering talent and grow the country's iOS developer community.
The accelerator is expected to open in early 2017. The facility will also provide support and guidance on Swift, Apple's programming language created to build apps for iOS, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Watch.
