NEW DELHI: Apple at its recent developers conference, WWDC 2016, revealed a bunch of iOS 10 features including the ability for developers to create animated
emoji
characters for iMessage. Giving a sneak peek into how the final version would look like, the company has released four animated sticker packs for
iOS 10
beta users. The
emoticons
used in the packs appear similar to those used in Apple Watch devices.
The Cupertino-based tech giant released Classic Mac, Smileys, Hearts, and Hands animated emoji packs. While the Smileys, Hearts and Hands stickers are self explanatory, the Classic Mac animated stickers app, originally designed by Susan Kare in the 80s, includes random emoticons like the old Mac computer, magnifying glass, mouse arrow, bin, hands and more. The new animated packs for iMessage are available for download via the App Store.

Apple at this year's WWDC announced that its iMessage app is now open for third-party developers.
The upgraded iMessages app can share links with previews and videos that play right inside the chat window, enhanced camera feature and more. It also has 3x bigger emoji characters. In addition, the app boasts other functionalities like emoji predictions, highlighting of words that can be replaced by an emoji, bubble effects for saying a message loudly or gently, along with other animations. Users can send stickers, Gif images, pay money, book a table in restaurant and even order from right from inside the app using third-party integrations.
