After bikes, Paytm to now sell cars

NEW DELHI: Mobile payments platform Paytm today announced that it has partnered with Renault to allow buyers to book the Renault KWID online. Also, customers can pay the booking amount at dealerships with their Paytm Wallets. This comes after Paytm had partnered with Suzuki Motorcycles last month.

All variants of the car will be available for booking on Paytm in the Delhi-NCR area to begin with. Going forward, Paytm and Renault will extend this partnership at a pan-India level with other models of the brand also available for booking on the platform.

Renault is the first car brand to forge a partnership with Paytm. Customers now have the option to book Renault KWID for an amount of Rs 10,000 on Paytm, and they can avail offers on the booking within a stipulated period.


Recently, Paytm had expanded same-day delivery service to 20 cities in the country. The company is presently offering same-day deliveries from local sellers on large appliances and mobiles.

It introduced the marketplace model in October 2015. Sellers provide the delivery and installation service. The marketplace claims to ship close to Rs 20-crore worth orders in a month through its same-day delivery service.

With over 1.2 lakh sellers on their platform, the e-tailer is aiming to add 10,000 more sellers in 50 top-tier cities to spread the reach of online-to-offline (O2O) commerce further.
