Access Google Drive on Evernote on Android and Chrome
NEW DELHI: Google and Evernote have announced a partnership that will allow users of the productivity app to access their Google Drive files directly in Evernote.
“Instead of pasting links to files, Drive content added to Evernote will now include thumbnail previews and a rich viewing experience. You can also search Drive from Evernote and any changes to files in Drive will sync automatically with your notes,” explains Ramesh Nagarajan, group product manager, Google Drive.
However, this integration works only when the user is online. This integration doesn’t work for Evernote offline mode.
The feature is supported on beta versions of Evernote for Android and Evernote Web for Chrome on an opt-in basis.
To use this integration feature, users will have to opt for the beta versions of both Evernote for Android and Chrome. On PCs, users will have to use Chrome to log in to Evernote and opt for the beta version to get Google Drive support. For Android smartphones, users will have to become a tester by installing this app while logged onto Google Drive.
Recently, WhatsApp has released an update for iPhones that adds new features like sending files from Google Drive and Dropbox as well as allows users to zoom in on videos as they play.
The new update (v 2.12.14) integrates iCloud Drive, Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive, etc and allows users to send files to other contacts. This means that they can send photos and videos stored in cloud storage services directly from WhatsApp. However, other files stored in the cloud, like Excel sheets or Word documents, still cannot be sent via WhatsApp.
