Earthquake Strikes Greek Island

A powerful 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck off Kasos Island early Wednesday.
The quake was felt across the eastern Mediterranean, including Crete and parts of mainland Greece.

Location and Depth
The tremor occurred at 1:51 am local time at a depth of around 78 kilometres.
Its epicentre was about 15 kilometres from Kasos's capital, Fry.

No Damage Reported
Authorities reported no immediate injuries or structural damage from the earthquake.
"Moderate shaking likely occurred on Kasos and Karpathos islands," USGS noted.
