Travellers in India can now search for flights using simple conversations, as Skyscanner has launched its app within ChatGPT. The move brings flight search into a more intuitive, conversational format, allowing users to find and compare options without traditional form-based searches.
With this feature, users can install the app from the ChatGPT store and begin by typing a request such as “find me the cheapest flight to Japan in August”. The tool then provides live results, displaying various options and prices in an easy-to-understand format. Travellers can refine their search by adjusting dates, destinations or airports through follow-up messages, making the process more flexible and user-friendly.
The new integration aims to reduce friction in travel planning by combining trusted pricing data with a natural language interface. It reflects a broader shift towards using artificial intelligence to simplify decision-making and improve user experience.
Piero Sierra, Chief AI Officer, said, “We’ve been at the forefront of cutting-edge flight search, ensuring that travellers have all the right tools to reduce friction and give them more confidence in finding the right flight for them.
Travellers can now access the Skyscanner app in ChatGPT to search for the best options and flight prices for their trip.”
The company is also exploring other AI-driven tools to enhance travel planning, including features that help users track fares and plan complex journeys. As AI continues to evolve, such innovations are expected to make travel search more seamless, personalised and efficient for users.
