With hours left before the ceasefire expires, the US and Iran are locked in a tense standoff marked by threats, uncertainty, and rising risks. Donald Trump has warned of bombing if talks fail, while Iran has signalled it is ready with new strategies on the battlefield. The planned negotiations in Islamabad remain unclear, with Tehran denying participation even as Washington confirms its delegation. The crisis deepened after a US move against an Iranian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran calls a violation of the ceasefire. At the same time, Iranian ships continue to challenge US pressure by crossing key maritime routes, reinforcing Tehran’s message of defiance. With both sides unwilling to back down and mediators urging restraint, the coming hours are critical. The world is now watching whether diplomacy prevails or if this fragile pause collapses into open conflict.
