Indian Startup Launches Mission Drishti, World’s First OptoSAR Satellite, Aboard SpaceX Falcon 9

India’s private space ecosystem took a significant leap as GalaxEye Space launched Mission Drishti aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9. The 190 kg satellite is the largest privately built in India and features OptoSAR, a unique system combining optical imaging and radar. This enables high-resolution, all-weather, day-and-night Earth observation in a single pass. PM Narendra Modi hailed the mission as a major milestone in India’s space journey. Mission Drishti underscores the rapid rise of Indian private players in advanced space technology and global innovation.
