Prior to SmackDown going on air, General Manager Nick Aldis teased a “history making announcement” on his X handle. Now, we all know that the long-saught mid-card title is here which will add up to several astonishing moments in the women’s division. Although there has not been any match announced for the title as of yet, the title has sparked discussion among fans.

After unveiling the title, Aldis took to his X to share that he was privileged to announce the historic inception of the title. “It is my honor and privilege to introduce the new @WWE Women's United States Championship,” he wrote on X.

Aldis announced the new title in a pre-recorded video aired on the latest episode of the Blue Brand. He said that it wouldn't be handed out easily as the talents have to earn the shot. He added that the championship would go to "whoever is willing to go above and beyond and seize the moment." Now, the "Opportunity knocks, and it's time to answer and make history."

Fans and talents have been demanding a mid-card title for quite a while. Previously, WWE Women's Champion Bayley shared the importance of the title with high excitement. “I mean, it wouldn't hurt. It would be nice to have another title but I think, it’s just gonna take time, you know? When we wanted those women's tag team titles, it took a long time and it took someone actually fighting for them,” Bayley said. She added, “So, if that what we want, someone has to stand up for it and really fight for it and prove that it’s going to be a benefit to the division.”

The wishes came true and there is no shortage of talents in the division to claim the title which is expected to produce a series of high-octane matches in the future. Although Aldis didn’t specify any immediate plan for the title on the SmackDown episode, it is fair to assume that the race for the title is already on the horizon.
