Kevin Owens being attacked by the Bloodline has become somewhat of a common occurrence, and we got to witness this sight again on SmackDown 9/20. Owens took the ring after watching Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes’ video from Georgia Tech. Kevin was about to give us his thoughts on the situation, but as always, the Bloodline came out to interfere and attacked Owens using their numbers advantage.
Thankfully, DIY was lurking backstage and came to Owens’ rescue. Nick Aldis saw the situation unfold and decided to book the two sides to a six-man tag team match. However, The Bloodline took out DIY ahead of the match, so Owens was once again left to fend for himself. But, tonight luck truly was on Kevin’s side, just as it seemed like he would have to fight the Bloodline alone, the Street Profits came to his rescue.
But, even the Street Profits couldn’t hang around for long, and Kevin found himself alone for the third time. Finally, Cody Rhodes emerged from backstage with a chair in his hand and managed to chase the Bloodline away for good. As Rhodes stared down the Bloodline, Kevin Owens grabbed the chair brought by Rhodes and shot a menacing look towards the champ. Kevin even seemed hesitant to shake Cody’s hand after the save, which has led fans to believe that Owens is about to turn heel.

Owens has been teasing a heel turn ever since Cody Rhodes gave him a title shot at Bash in Berlin. However, now that Rhodes has teamed up with Roman Reigns, Kevin finally has a reason to bite the bullet and go through with his heel turn We have to remember that the Bloodline has cost Kevin Owens a lot over the last few months.
Moreover, Rhodes has often relied on Kevin Owens and Randy Orton to fight the Bloodline. So, for him to suddenly turn to Roman Reigns seems like a massive betrayal. Rhodes’ partnership with Roman Reigns could end up having a lot of negative effects on him in the long term. For starters, Owens has already teased a heel turn.
Randy Orton will also not be entirely happy with Cody’s decision to align with Roman Reigns. Last but not least, The Rock might also become unhappy with Roman’s decision to take Rhodes’ help in taking down his own family. It’ll be interesting to see how their partnership plays out at Bad Blood 2024.
