"It’s really cool for him to go out of his way..": Roxanne Perez praises CM Punk

CM Punk is one of the most celebrated WWE superstars of the modern era. Ever since his return in November 2023, Punk has continued to add glory to his already hall-of-fame caliber wrestling career. Just a few nights ago, he took on Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam 2024. While Punk lost that match, he put up a fine display that was worthy of praise.

Just like the fans, The reigning NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez, has also been happy to see CM Punk return to WWE. She is particularly happy with all the work that Punk has been doing with NXT. Roxanne says that while she was growing up, she wanted to be where Punk was. Now that she’s under his 'learning tree', he’s every bit as awesome as Perez imagined he would be.

Perez believes Punk goes out of his way to help NXT wrestlers. CM Punk regularly pops up at PPV events to cheer for his pupils. He was also present at Las Vegas Battleground and watched all the matches. Here’s what else she had to say about CM Punk:

“It’s really cool for him to go out of his way to do that and help us out and see if we need any critiques or any advice or anything, he’s always there.”

CM Punk will be returning to NXT in October

CM Punk is all set to return to NXT in October. Shawn Michaels announced that WWE legends, Randy Orton and CM Punk will be making guest appearances when NXT makes the switch to the CW Network. During his time at NXT, we could see The Best in the World play a number of roles. However, fans would love nothing more than to see an interaction between Perez and Punk.

Over the last few months, Roxanne Perez has developed a poor attitude towards her mentor. With Punk all set to make an appearance on NXT, it would only make sense that he takes to the ring and dishes out some advice to his mentee, Perez. But, we have to take into consideration that the business is all about viewership.


Now, instead of having Punk play a small segment with Perez, WWE could opt to have him on as a guest commentator. The Best in the World commentating on NXT matches would easily make for some must-watch TV. Regardless of what kind of role he plays, Punk’s presence alone should make quite a difference for NXT’s numbers.

For now, CM Punk will be working to get back at Drew McIntyre, who took him down at SummerSlam 2024. If he hadn’t gotten into a spat with Seth Rollins, Punk could’ve left the arena as the winner that night. Unfortunately, he let his emotions get the best of him. But knowing CM Punk, he’ll be back as a better version of himself. It’ll be interesting to see what Punk has in store for us over the coming weeks.
