WWE's "O.T.C." Roman Reigns Excluded from PWI Top 500? Details Revealed

The “Original Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns is one of the most sought after professional wrestlers around the globe and is arguably the biggest ticket seller that any wrestling promotion would dream to have. Recently, like every year, PWI generated its top Wrestling superstars’(PWI 500)list, which was topped by the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes(current WWE Champion). Shockingly, Roman Reigns’ name was nowhere to be found, which has the fans going crazy over the fact that the “Big Dog” has not made the list this year.

The PWI Top 500 List
After making his debut in WWE in 2012, Roman has been one of the biggest superstars of WWE. Even when he was not the fan favorite in the pre 2020 era, He could still fill arena’s easily. But after the pandemic hit in 2020, everything changed for the “Head of the Table”, as with the Bloodline storyline, he became the biggest name in the Pro Wrestling industry, over the last 4 years. He was at number two of the superstar’s list according to the PWI 500 list featured by PWInsider. But much to the surprise of the WWE universe, Reigns has been eliminated from the list this year.

The O.T.C. not included in the list?
Notably, Roman Reigns topped the list of the PWI 500 from 2016 to 2022 , but much to the disdain of WWE fans, he has not made the list this year. Now, Kevin McElvaney(from PWInsider), has given PWIs take on not including Roman in the list. According to him, for Roman to be eligible to enter the list, he should have played at least 10 matches in WWE, whereas the Big Dog has only had five singles WWE matches in the set time period. Kevin also compared Roman’s situation with that of Brock Lesnar, who was mostly not included in the list because of the small amount of matches that he used to appear in.

The Explanation
“He( Roman) put us into an awkward spot, as he only had five singles matches during the evaluation period(the minimum is 10, or Six during Six separate months). Brock Lesnar had a similar deal years ago, and didn't make it. I am sure people will be normal about this” wrote Kevin, explaining the situation on ‘X”(fka Twitter). Clearly, looking at the reactions to this news around the world, the fans have not taken a liking towards Roman getting eliminated from the Top 500 list.
