NEW DELHI: WWE fans have witnessed Brock Lesnar engage in epic feuds throughout his storied career, but one notable name has been missing from his list of opponents in a true TV storyline—SmackDown Superstar Sheamus.
While Lesnar and Sheamus have crossed paths in 30-man Royal Rumble matches and faced each other in singles competition at house shows many years ago, they have yet to lock horns in a full-fledged TV storyline. The Beast Incarnate emerged victorious in both encounters during those house show matches.
Both Lesnar and Sheamus have been absent from recent television programming. Lesnar's last appearance was at SummerSlam, where he put Cody Rhodes over to conclude their trilogy. Sheamus, on the other hand, last wrestled on the August 18 episode of SmackDown, losing to Adam Copeland (FKA Edge) in his farewell match.
Reports indicate that Sheamus has been dealing with a serious shoulder injury, leading to his time on the shelf. However, WWE is currently advertising him for the go-home episode of SmackDown before this year's Survivor Series.
While Lesnar is not expected to return until the Royal Rumble season next year, recent rumors and Sheamus's tease have sparked excitement among the WWE Universe. Fans are expressing their desire to witness a buzzworthy feud between the two veterans in the coming year.
Sheamus fueled the speculation earlier this year when he shared a clip of his 2016 house show match with Brock Lesnar on X (formerly known as Twitter), teasing a potential blockbuster clash.
