As WWE SmackDown's contract with FOX concludes, the show returns ... Read More
After five long years, SmackDown’s deal with FOX is coming to an end. This contract was considered the largest broadcast agreement in professional wrestling history by far, until the more recent Netflix-RAW deal took the spotlight. As SmackDown prepares to make its return to the USA Network, it seems that the blue brand may be unveiling a fresh new logo.

SmackDown holds the distinction of being WWE’s second-longest-running weekly television show, only behind RAW. It’s a status that will likely continue well into the future, especially with the announcement of an enormous 10-year, $5-billion contract. Despite moving back to the USA Network, SmackDown will remain a significant source of broadcast revenue for WWE, ensuring its place as a key pillar of the sports entertainment industry.

Recently, Cultaholic Wrestling posted a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), where they revealed what appears to be the potential new logo for WWE SmackDown on the USA Network.

Roman Reigns' Status For The Upcoming SmackDown Season Premiere

When SmackDown made its move back to Friday nights for its FOX debut, the event was monumental. One of the highlights of the show was Brock Lesnar competing on free television for the first time in over 15 years. Although Lesnar’s match was incredibly brief, lasting only a few seconds, WWE is known for going all out when it comes to major network debuts or returns.

Roman Reigns had originally been advertised for the SmackDown debut on the USA Network, scheduled for the September 13th episode in Seattle, Washington, but his appearance was unexpectedly removed. While surprising to many, this decision might not have been entirely unexpected. Reigns was taken out by Jacob Fatu and The New Bloodline during the August 16th episode of SmackDown, making his absence somewhat more understandable.

Meanwhile, following Cody Rhodes' successful defense of the Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin, Michael Cole reportedly confirmed that the highly anticipated rematch between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa is on the horizon. "Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa 2" seems to be set for Bad Blood 2024, which will take place in Cody’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. With this match being a significant draw for the upcoming pay-per-view, it’s possible that WWE’s decision to hold off on Roman Reigns’ return to the blue brand for the USA Network premiere was strategic. It could make more sense for him to reappear at or after Bad Blood, adding to the anticipation.
