A week after the superstar shakeup changed the landscape of WWE Smackdown Live, Jinder Mahal and Charlotte emerged the number one contenders for their respective division's titles.

A week after the superstar shakeup changed the landscape of WWE Smackdown Live, Jinder Mahal and Charlotte emerged the number one contenders for their respective division's titles.
A week after the superstar shakeup changed the landscape of WWE Smackdown Live, Charlotte Flair opened the show, and the scorned queen demanded a Smackdown Live women's title match. Naomi interrupted the queen and jumped the former RAW superstar with a straight elbow and a drop kick that had Charlotte reeling. Shane McMahon then announced that both Superstars will face each other and if Charlotte is able to beat Naomi in a non-title match, she will become the number one contender for the title.

Six-pack challenge to determine number one contender for WWE Championship: Jinder Mahal beat Sami Zyan, Eric Rowan, Kuke Harper, Dolph Ziggler and Mojo Rawley
Fantastic opening to the match with all the six superstars going all out with tandem offenses and that had the crowd buzzing. Ziggler superkicked Zayn and then Harper, but the former Wyatt member was unfazed and came back with a discus clothesline nearly decapitating 'The Show off'. Eric Rowan showcased his power while Harper flew across for two suicide dives. Mahal almost stole the match after Ziggler was knocked out by a Mojo Rawley elbow, only to be denied by Zayn. 'This is awesome' chants validated the match. Ziggler came close with a Zig Zag on Rowan and Harper had the near count on Ziggler with a powerbomb. Zayn had Mahal on the spot for the Helluva kick with a reverse exploder but a timely intervention by the 'Bollywood Boyz' allowed Mahal to hit the finisher on Zayn and he became the number one contender before blasting the disappointed crowd saying they don't accept diversity, but they will have to accept him as WWE World champion. The Champion Randy Orton came out to the middle and issued a stern warning to Mahal and then to Bray Wyatt.

Charlotte beat Naomi via pinfall to become No.1 contender for Smackdown Live women's championship
Charlotte dominated the early proceedings with superior grappling skills than Naomi. Naomi managed to break free and showcased great athleticism to stun Charlotte. A series of chops and kicks followed with Naomi getting near count with a kick to the side of the head. The champion favoured her left knee after a nasty fall to the outside, but she continued to her aerial offences on Charlotte and the former RAW women's champion was reeling. But Charlotte turned the tables after countering Naomi's finisher The Rear View with a kick to the stern of Naomi and then proceeded to hit Natural Selection to pick up the win.


The Colons beat America Alpha via pinfall
The repackaged Shining Stars got their match against the former Smackdown Live tag champs after the Colons had attacked Alpha last week. Chad Gable started well, but underhand tactics had The Colons in a good spot. Jordan made a brief comeback for the Alpha, but The Colons picked a cheeky win.

AJ Styles beat Baron Corbin via count-out
Corbin started off hot and concentrated on Styles midriff. He banged Styles on the steel post and continued to work on the injured body part. Styles made a comeback with a Pele kick but Corbin was too strong and had Styles on the mat with a vicious deep six. Corbin soon found himself shoulder first in the steel post allowing AJ Styles the opening. Styles took the fight to the outside and set up Corbin for the styles clash but Corbin dumped Styles on top of Kevin Owens who was ringside doing commentary. Corbin went for the 'End of Days' outside the ring but Styles countered and a phenomenal forearm from the top rope and had Corbin outside the ring area and Styles won via count-out.
